How to write a listing that sells
Two people list the same item. One sells in three days, the other waits a month. The difference is not the item — it is the listing.
Title: be specific
Buyers type the brand, the model and the storage size into the search box. If those words are not in your title, your listing simply is not found.
- Weak: "Phone for sale, urgent"
- Strong: "iPhone 13 128GB, blue, under warranty"
In some categories tezsat builds the title from the attributes you pick — the title field disappears and you do not have to think about it.
Photos: eight frames, daylight
A listing with no photo is barely touched. One photo is not enough either. The minimum set:
- The whole item against a plain background
- Front and back
- Close-ups — the screen, the engine bay, the fabric, whatever you are selling
- The flaw itself — the scratch, the dent, the stain
- Box, documents, accessories
Point four works in your favour: a listing that does not hide the damage earns more trust, and it kills the "you didn't mention this" argument at the meeting.
Price: learn the range first
Before you post, open your category and look at what comparable items in comparable condition are asking. Twenty per cent above market makes a listing invisible; forty per cent below brings hagglers rather than serious buyers.
If you are open to an offer, say so — buyers decide to message much faster when they know that.
Description: answer the questions before they are asked
A good description reduces the number of messages, because it has already answered them:
- How long it was used
- Why you are selling
- What is included — box, charger, papers
- Its condition, honestly
- Whether you deliver, and where
Timing: post in the evening
Between 19:00 and 22:00 the marketplace is busiest, and a fresh listing sits at the top of the list.
Ready? Post your listing — it is free in most categories.
